How to Use an Ac/Dc Tire Inflator Properly

An AC/DC tire inflater is a convenient tool to own at hand, functioning both from your AC outlet or your 12 volt adapter at home. This inflator can be used with your tire and rim repair kit to avoid a costly tow service at the end of the day due to flat tires. The small size of these inflators makes them very handy and easy to use. One can easily fit in the glove box of a car and be inflating tires quickly and easily, depending on how much tire you are inflating.

There are two different types of this device. A manual one that is used by the owner and a remote controlled one which is battery powered and runs on a lithium battery. Both work on the same principles. A small needle in the center of the ring helps to draw air into the tire. A light on the dashboard next to the ring helps to see when it has fully filled. When the needle starts to drop it tells you so and you then have to change it to a new one and start the cycle all over again.

Some additional features that come with the auto inflator include a timer that will stop the system at pre-set intervals, such as every five miles or every sixty miles, depending on the size of the tires and the speed of the vehicle. It also includes a safety switch that is easy to operate which shuts off the engine if contact is made with any parts of the air inflator while it is in operation. Other features that are available are a high setting for the inflating pressure and a lower setting for the deflating pressure.

You should be aware that overheating of your tires can cause them to wear out faster. If you ride on old rims that aren't properly maintained then you may experience overheating of the tires more often. The reason for overheating is because there isn't enough air circulating in and around the tires. This causes the pressure to build up in the tires because of the build up of lint and moisture, this causes the wheels to work harder to get the amount of air that they need, this in turn causes them to wear out faster.

An advantage of the Ac/Dc tire inflators is that they have a digital display and an analog pressure gauge. They work in conjunction with each other to ensure that the tires are correctly inflated. There is an electronic valve that prevents overpressure. It also keeps a constant pressure gauge reading so you will know when the tank is empty. Most come with a spare tire and valve adapter.

An advantage of the digital display is that you can make smaller corrections easier to do and you will not waste any time because it is easier to see the results. Most people prefer the more professional looking inflation options but many choose the digital displays because it is easy to use. Your tires will last longer and have more tread if you choose the right inflation option. The main thing to remember when selecting a tire inflator with an ACO is that you want one that inflates all of the manufacturers specifications. There are some brands that don't take manufacturer specifications into consideration, these are the inflatable pumps that have no gauge and only indicate the level.

You need to keep in mind that some air inflators will inflate all tires on a flat rate, this means that you will get an unevenly thick tire and you will need to change them often. If you purchase an air inflator that has a preset pressure you will only have to change your tires every three or four years. If you choose a tire inflater with a digital display you will have an exact reading each time you open it up so you know exactly how much air is in the tires. When changing your tires it is best to change them as close to the recommended inflation as possible. If you forget to change your air inflator in a timely manner you may end up losing much pressure in your tires that will lead to having to buy new tires sooner rather than later.

Air compressors are not meant to replace the air-inflated tire pump, they are more of a companion to help you fill tires properly. These tools are not as strong as pump mechanics but are much easier to use, most people are comfortable with the extra ease-of-use that goes along with a compressor over a tire pump. It is important to check your owner's manual for the proper tire inflation pressure and for the maximum air volume that your compressor can handle. The compressor is also important for inflating tires with air-compressors and air-inflated tires.
